Rollercoaster Reflexion
Today, we went out to the courtyard to see some hand made rollercoasters. I can bet the purpose of the rollercoaster making was to express something to do with motion, you know physics. There were 6 rollercoasters, I bet they all took a while and some pacience to make. The first one they showed was an Asian themed rollercoaster, in my opinion, a perfect 10(60). The rollercoaster was well built and very attractive to the public. The second they showed was a World Soccer Cup themed one, it was a 55 out of 60, it wasn't that attractive to the eye as the Asian one. The third rollercoaster they showed was an Alice in Wonderland themed one, in my opinion it was a 49 out of 60 due to its lack of attractiveness and structuring, it was too simple. The fourth was a Jungle themed rollercoaster, I give it a perfect 60, it was an awesome ride, flawless in my opinion. The fifth one was a metropolitan city themed rollercoaster, I gave it a 45 mainly because it was attractive but the structure was too simple. The final rollercoaster they showed was a ¨CandyLand¨ themed one, it was simply flawless and very attractive. In conclusion, I wouldn't actually enjoy making one ,although, I did enjoy watching them on action.

RoboTec Reflection
So, today we had a guy of the Tec. de Monterrey College to talk to us about robotics and their program for students, RoboTec. I personally liked the whole presentation not only because of the cool robot, but, the work it takes to simply move it. I would like to participate in one of these robot events, I really am interested in robotics. The thing I liked the most are the patterns of commands and their importance. I am not sure I would be able to build one of those robots now, but I can surely start practicing. I can imagine myself in a few years using of these robots for my normal life, you know, using it to complete normal day-tasks. The fact that the robots were made of Lego really impressed me. In conclusion, I really liked this presentation and I hope to participate in one of these events some day.

About Myself
My name is Jorge, my classmates call me Jorge... I was born in Puerto Vallarta on December 2, 1994. Since Kindergarten, I have been in the American School, though I got out from fifth to eighth grade. I do not like going out of my house a lot, I like staying and playing videogames from the moment I finish my homework till it is really late at night. I do not have many friends, and I really don't care if I have any. I live in "Marina Vallarta", which is about 3 minutes from the school. I like exercising but I do not like watching sports a lot, only practicing them. I have lived all of my life on Puerto Vallarta, I have occasionally left to the States for vacationing ,but, besides that I really haven't changed homes.
I do like music, though I am not interested in playing any instrument. I believe the only reason we go to school is to work, so I dedicate my recess time to do my homework. I am not interested in talking a lot, since I think is lame and doesn't help you at all. I enjoy videogames, I have had my gaming consoles, I have sold most of them, by the moment I have a PS3 and a PSP. My favorite videogame genre is First Person Shooters. I really like spending a lot of time perfectioning my gaming skills. I like to read mature-themed books since I can handle the theme, no matter how brutal it is.
I dont like living in a hot place, I hate the beach,so, I basically don't enjoy living in Puerto Vallarta. I hate pictures and I don't drink nor smoke, nor plan to. I really enjoy learning interesting stuff. I have used technology since I was like 3 years old. I can definitely say that Puerto Vallarta is a boring place. I used to like cartoons, but, for the moment I just watch the History Channel and all those interesting channels. I really enjoy everything technology related. In conclusion, yes, I am a boring person.

Audacity Project 2 Overview
Once again, we worked with something audacity-related, it was amazingly weird what you would hear. I first have to discuss my project, the effects I used the most were drum based, and the rest were really very random sounds. The other people used mainly downloaded sounds, I really couldn't see any really "homemade" material, although there were exceptions. Most of the effects they used were really weird sounds, though the mix itself for the most part was pretty original...something you wouldn't really here anywhere else. What I really didn't have chance to include in my mix was some really sick guitar solo, I really regret that I did not use it.
Today, I had a chance to see by myself that my mix wasn't the creappiest of all. I listened to about seven mixes today, it was a rough ride. On the first mix, I witnessed the lazyness at all of its power, it really did not have any effor invested into it. On the second mix, I listened to a well balanced mix, although it lacked volume. On the third mix, I witnessed the fear, as I encountered a scary mix with incredible amounts of rip-offs from other songs. On the fourth mix, I really brome my barriers of un-originality, as I listened a song composed solely of downloaded sounds. The fifth mix was actually good as far as the word goes, it was all "homemade" but it just looped the same sound over and over. The sixth sound was awfully funny and incredibly good, it contained a lot of sounds made by the guy(Rodrigo), and it had a rather Zappa-like influence in some of it. The seventh and last mix was actually pretty normal, the photos creaped me out, although it really had a wide variety of sounds. This project was pretty good...for the most part.

Audacity Project 2 Discussion
This past week we have been working once again with the Audacity program. It was once again pretty easy. This time the goal was to create our own sounds and loop them in order to create a song at least 90 sec. long. We also had the option to download sounds, although there was a condition, the sound couldn't last longer than 15 seconds. I chose the path of making sounds, so I practically made like 14 sounds by myself and I downloaded only 2 sounds. The difficult part of the project was the fact of dealing with a classroom, it was obviously loud. I really did enjoy this project because I once again discovered how fun is to make lame songs and how cool is it without singing. I would recommend to give a little more time if they're going to have the same project with the future 8th-graders. The only thing I disliked about the project was the shortened time we had to do it. This is the last Audacity project we are doing and I can say that the knowledge gained from this classes are definitely going to help me further on with computer-related stuff.

Mashups
The whole last week, we've been working on a mashup project on a easy-to use program called Audacity. Today, Mr. Picketts asigned us a group so we could listen to it and get a thought of what their work was and how good it was. The first project I listened to was Fernanda Corzo's one, my first impressions were that it was obviously an electronic mix. The volume for the project was kind of low, but I could hear that she actually worked on it, I couldn't really listen to the effects as it was playes as a song on Itunes; though it sounded like it was worked on. The second project I heard was Paola's one, it was basically a layer over layer of tracks, but it seemed a pretty average product. The next project I was supposed to listen to was Pedro's, but, he didn't have it.... so I did not hear it at all. The next and last project I heard was Taku's one, it was a Halloween mix song, but this project as a counterpart to Paola's, it was more elaborate, although it kept the same track over track concept. So, In conclusion It was a average project with an expected result.
On the Audacity project I did I used: one (full) song, 2 sound effects, and a piece of a Windows audio tutorial. The song was already mixed and very lengthy , so, what I did was to cut a big chunk of the song. After that, I inserted the sound effects, which themselves were only a single sound, but I worked with them so I could multiply them. I used some effects on the song, such as speed acceleration and bass boost on certain points, it gave it a nice touch. As minimum as it sounds, I did work with the song-altering pencil tool, although I do not see the big change. In conclusion, I really think I ended up with a nice product, that followed the needs and in the end was somehow fun to do.

Typing Reflection
On the beginning of the year, I started with my classmates a so called "Typing Test"; it has been interesting.
In contrast, since my start, I had six as a gross speed, immediately after that I've been getting 20's and 21's. So getting straight to the point, I obviuosly have been improving. My next personal goal is to get to the 25's-27's, to achive this goal I will have to start getting the picture of the keyboard stuck on my head for good.
Next week, we're doing a so called "blind test", which consists of writing without looking at the keyboard. I really am being realistic and I expect to get like 75-80% accuracy and like 14-16 words per hour. I am ready to confront this challenge, in a realistic manner.

Future Artifact
Well, what could I say from this project; it was entertaining. At the beginning, I was freaked out because I couldn't compare my basic Ps skills to the seasoned veterans; I couldn't but I am proud of my work. Through the whole process I had some issues; where is this tool?, how can I use the sharpen tool?, etc. All of this was solved investigating, getting used to Ps, it had to become your "home program". I started to work with a simple image of a chocholate factory, I ended up with this; it was a hard bumpy road, entertaining too. The only thing I would have had fixed would have been the shading; I am not that experienced.
http://ppgolfsurf.blogspot.com/ This is the link to Pedro's project. I like the fact that the project actually seems real; or at least it stays in the "real boundaries". Thinking it over, I really do think that those kind of microscopes can be manufactured, I mean it is only a giant microscopeI would like to learn the lightning (if he actually made it) skill Pedro used here; I need some classes of that specifically. So, basically what I understand from this picture, is that in a future they will be microscopes as big as that; if that's not the real image message don't care about my comment.
I really wouldn't like having his project, I mean, I really don't like the idea of having a giant microscope on my house. I really do think that this artifact could be in fact, manufactured; once you think it through you only add a big "screen" to a normal sized microscope. I really wouldn't buy it if was available. I really don't think that the artifact would change the world at all; microscopes already exist and having a bigger one doesn't change anything.

Lighting a Giant Elephant
http://fx.worth1000.com/tutorials/161386/lighting-a-giant-elephant
This is the second tutorial that in my opinion will help me; it shows how to input a random elephant into a street, change its color to the one of the base picture, and input a shadow. I will use the really helpful tip that was given up , when making a shadow, make two separate layers to work with.

Raspberry Frog

I chose the turorial "how to make a raspberry frog"; it basically explains how to fuse a frog with a raspberry into looking like a frog made out of a raspberry.I will use the turning down the opacity of an image so I can work with it and manipulate to make a good fusing.

Social Media Revolution
The comments I encountered were all agreeable; all of them had great data. The other point is that all of the posts I commented had all the same point as I did; of course, better. I specifically liked how the people got to the point; they all had unique characteristics. We all agreed that social media wether you like it or not, social media is good. In conclusion, social media is not a fad but it is the future of society.

Artifacts From the Future
I picked this masterpiece;what do you think about it?
I chose to put this picture as an example of futuristic advance, maily due to the fact that what it expresses it could be real. We may actually experience this some day;who knows? At the rate we are going our so called "media" will disappear;not all of it will, however most likely the one thing that will survive it's the internet. The world may see actually the current period of time we live in as a single piece of work, "the primitive entertainment",this is all let to their imagination.
While observing this I got an idea: ;a life-controlling computer. It will require the minimum energy; it will cost a hundred dollars and three quarters of the world will have it available. It will complete all of the life-depending tasks. It will practically fo your life for you. Also it will hooked directly into your brain.Internet in one second, going to the bathroom, done, everything reduced to the most easy and practical way.

Social Media Revolution

The Social Media Revolution
When you read the text, your spirit is going to break so bad you are going to suffer and probably won’t stand the video, if you haven’t heard of this “little thing “called social media revolution…yet. This movement has fired up and has been growing at an amazing rate since the “real” introduction to the net in the nineties. At this time the media revolution has changed the perception of communication and its reach to every person on the world by making it as easy as possible.
Today, a large percent of the world´s population is currently related to the social media, I am involved mainly in social media on internet-based programs (e.g. hotmail, playstation network, etc.). As well as serving as an easy way of communication it also has its risks like the internet predators that search, investigate and instigate people, as well as internet scams, kidnappers, etc. Of course, this is fully dependable on the person and its security measures, the main security measures are:
1. Do not give personal data
2. Do not chat with unknown people
3. Do not enter heavily “ad” infested sites.
4. Have a top quality antivirus program.
This way both you and your system (computers, cell phones, etc.) will be secured.
At these times the requests of the social media revolution are defining the way we will do in our near future economically, socially and the business of our choosing. It will affect our lives in this way because the social media, well, is heavily affecting the society and this means it will define the economy, once it affects the economy it affects out whole lives. If we choose to be a doctor, the social media will define what do we have to study (at the rate is advancing, it will be a constant changing matter) and in what countries it would be more convenient, this affecting us socially.
In my opinion, even though being the oldest and toughest to believe, it is the most realistic of all.

Computer Class Quality
How can Mister Picketts ensure that everyone in the class is getting an opportunity to learn and that the entire group does not suffer as a result of the time being wasted by the talkers?
Well, I would say that the only way we could have an actual class, where we lear would be by taking out the guys who talk. It is as simple as that. I am saying this because once you go through it, the guys who talk are old enough to know this. I know what happened yesterday was a breaking point for Mr. Picketts, even though I wasn't there personally. The problem with this is that sometimes the teachers are too nice and too comprenhensive, when their fuse runs out, something like this happens. So there is no more option but to take the desperate measures, they don't listen, you take them out, as simple as that.

Family Reunion
(Fake)
There was one time on the 96' I think it was the first "major" reunion and I was only like a year and months. So it was a typical reunion, it wasn't much of a party but a simple excuse to waste some spare time. I don't remember what we ate that day but I can only remember it was one long and boring day. I think I slept through most of the day, cause I was little but who cares, it still was a boring day. There was this one thing I do remember, I think I did not leave the place(room( where I was staying. So as you can imagine it was one of those 7 hour reunion where at the end all of the people were talking about old stories. So after all of that, I did not remember walking to the car or something, I simply awoke in my bed, in my house

Family Tree PhotoShop Assignment
Well, we started this project like a week ago, and I've had some serious trouble with this assignment. Well, not so big but, I have not used PhotoShop in a while(like 2 years ago)
and even though, I was not so good. So the main problems I've had have been about the
layer the fusing of them and to make a neat crop with images. All of this problems were
resoled by asking Mr. Pickets and he would explain me the working of the whole thing,
at the end, he explained me the same thing like for 3 times until I could finally get it
and thats it. The other trouble, I actually forgot about this, was finding the photos (we
really don't have many photos), so I solved this problem by searching for them and
then photo copying them and then getting them into a flash drive ,then, completing the work.
